Project Details
In 2105 RTE selected BVS as their partner to upgrade their flagship studio 4 control room to HD. BVS’ experience in having designed and installed many such systems both in RTE and elsewhere was an important factor in their selection for this important project.
As always with such projects the timescales were tight so as to minimise studio downtime. BVS and RTE engineering teams worked closely to establish the system parameters and BVS then produced system designs and a project plan.

The new build included new control room furniture for the vision, production and sound galleries together with all the technical infrastructure. BVS employed technology from Grass Valley, Imagine Communications, TSL, Calrec, RTS Telex for the primary equipment for this project which was delivered on time and on budget. Technical training was provided as part of the technical handover to RTE’s engineering teams and for peace of mind, RTE have much of the system covered by a BVS SLA.
